Economic Chamber and Diplomatic Club-Skopje with a Joint Panel Discussion: Macedonian Companies Exported to 153 Countries, With Significant Volumes (Over €1 Million) Recorded in 62 of Them

03/06/2025

On 29 May 2025, a panel discussion titled “The Role of Chambers and Economic Diplomacy in Promoting Macedonian Business Interests and Goals Abroad” was held at the premises of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia. The event was organized jointly by the Chamber and the Diplomatic Club–Skopje. It began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, confirming their shared commitment to enhancing Macedonia’s economic presence globally.

In his address, the President of the Chamber, Branko Azeski, emphasized that chambers of commerce are not state bodies, but private associations founded on the basis of mutual interest. “We exist because there is a need for coordinated and collective action,” Azeski said, underlining that the Chamber’s 103-year history stands as proof of its relevance. He stressed that economic diplomacy has always been one of the Chamber’s core objectives, as defined in its Statute, with a strong focus on boosting exports, fostering international cooperation, and opening new markets.

Azeski outlined the Chamber’s three strategic priorities in the area of exports: promoting innovation, enhancing the knowledge and skills of companies, and strengthening public-private dialogue. He highlighted the activities of the National Export Council, the Exporters’ Club, and the Export Institute as key mechanisms for preparing and positioning Macedonian companies on foreign markets. According to available data, in 2024 Macedonian companies exported to 153 countries, and in 62 of those countries, exports exceeded €1 million.
