The week ahead seems to herald the arrival of autumn with a dense lineup of upcoming activities. It begins on 24 September with the regional conference MicroBalkans 2026, which will establish a platform connecting microfinance, non-banking lending, the fintech industry, and the broader financial sector. This year’s motto is What Needs to Change in the Lending Mindset. MicroBalkans is not meant solely for financial firms; its primary value lies in bringing together regulators, commercial banks, non-banking institutions, fintech companies, and international financial organizations in one place.
On Friday, 25 September 2026, the Chamber will host an exceptionally important meeting with mayors of the country's larger municipalities to exchange experiences on local self-government operations and regional business organizations. An initiative was launched here to align the regional chambers symmetrically with the eight planning regions. During the meeting, the integrated digital platform MyCivic will be presented. The platform provides a direct, visible, and measurable link between citizens, the mayor, municipal administration, and public utility enterprises, offering municipalities a tool to better organize resources, control costs, coordinate departmental workflows, and monitor the quality of delivered public services.

Later that same day, the DigitMak Industry Meetup will take place—an initiative designed to accelerate the digital transformation of Macedonian companies and foster an innovative, competitive business sector. DigitMak serves as a collaborative platform linking business, academia, and the public sector, ensuring companies gain access to knowledge, expertise, technologies, and implementation support for digital solutions, including artificial intelligence. The event will mark the official launch of the European Digital Innovation Hub DigitMak, presenting its vision and service portfolio to companies. It will be accompanied by a panel discussion on the future of digital transformation in North Macedonia, providing businesses and institutions with an opportunity to bolster their digitalization capacities.
On 30 September, the Western Balkans Ministers of Economy Meeting will convene in Cetinje. The ministerial meeting will bring together line ministers for economic affairs from across the Western Balkans, alongside representatives from the European Commission and regional bodies, opening a forum to discuss key priorities for regional economic integration, the rollout of the Common Regional Market, and the advancement of the Reform Agenda within the Berlin Process.
This will be tailed on 1 October by the EU–Western Balkans 6 Business Platform in Budva. The event aims to foster direct dialogue among the business community, EU decision-makers, and Western Balkan policymakers to pinpoint bottlenecks and untapped potential in the regional business landscape, while driving deeper economic integration between the Western Balkans and the European Union. Discussions will center on predetermined priority topics to formulate regulatory and policy solutions capable of resolving identified challenges and seizing market opportunities. The EU–WB6 Business Dialogue Platform brings together business community delegates (the WB6 CIF Business Council) with policymakers from both the Western Balkans and the European Union. Its primary objective is to facilitate engagement between EU authorities and the WB6 private sector on leveraging the EU accession horizon to unlock expanded trade, investment, and cross-border commercial partnerships. Special emphasis will be placed on assessing how planned reforms and measures have improved market access, lowered the cost of doing business, and strengthened the region’s economic integration with the European Union.
