Ralica Guberova, President of the Insurance Association at the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, spoke to Bloomberg Adria about which types of storm damage are covered by insurance policies, the most common policy exclusions, the steps citizens should take immediately after sustaining damage, and the claims settlement process.

Guberova explained that damage to houses, residential buildings, and commercial properties is generally covered under property insurance policies, while damage to motor vehicles is covered only if the owner has comprehensive motor insurance (CASCO insurance). She emphasized that obtaining insurance in a timely manner provides essential financial protection in situations where natural disasters can cause significant material damage.
