The Milling and Bakery Industry Group within the Economic Chamber of NM, together with representatives of this sector from other chambers, held a joint working meeting on 2 April 2026 with the Deputy Minister of Economy, Marjan Risteski, and the Director of the State Market Inspectorate, Vlatko Stojkoski. The following conclusions were adopted:
1. The current situation regarding the prices of bread and bakery products is under control, and in most parts of the country, prices have not increased.
2. As a socially responsible industry, the representatives and members of the milling and bakery sector decided that the prices of bread and bakery products will not be increased, i.e. they will remain at the same level until the end of April. In the meantime, the situation will continue to be monitored and analyzed.
3. The Ministry of Economy, as well as the Government of the RNM, committed to jointly monitor developments together with the companies and, in the event of a deterioration in the situation with oil and petroleum product prices, to work with domestic millers and bread producers to find solutions that would mitigate the risk of price increases in this industry.
4. At the same time, the milling and bakery industry calls on all media and political factors in the country not to exploit the current situation in this sector—particularly regarding bread and bakery prices—by creating panic and uncertainty among citizens, which causes harm to both the population and the companies.
