TAV Macedonia, the airport operator managing both Macedonian airports—Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport—celebrated its 15th anniversary last night (23 May 2025) at a gala event held at the Macedonian Philharmonic. The celebration was attended by a large number of high-ranking government officials, TAV employees, and collaborators.
Representing the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia at the event was Dr. Jelisaveta Georgieva-Jovevska, Advisor to the President of the Chamber for Infrastructure and Economic Development.
TAV Macedonia is a longstanding member of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, a member of the Foreign Investors Council, and a long-time partner of the Chamber.
“In this year of our 15th anniversary in Macedonia, we at TAV Airports are improving airport infrastructure, optimizing operations, and ensuring a seamless passenger experience. We are committed to close cooperation with airlines, aviation authorities, tourism agencies, and the government to make the Skopje and Ohrid airports even more attractive destinations for travelers and business opportunities,” emphasized TAV Macedonia’s General Manager, Nejat Kurt.
It is worth noting that recently, the renowned aviation organization Skytrax ranked Skopje International Airport among the top ten airports in Eastern Europe as part of its Skytrax World Airport Awards. The best airports in Eastern Europe for 2025, according to Skytrax, are: 1. Budapest, 2. Sofia, 3. Tbilisi, 4. Tallinn, 5. Riga, 6. Kutaisi, 7. Belgrade, 8. Bucharest, 9. Batumi, 10. Skopje. In addition to Skopje International Airport, seven other airports operated by TAV Airports, a member of the Groupe ADP, were also recognized among the world's best airports in the Skytrax Awards. These include airports in Almaty, Kazakhstan; Ankara and Izmir, Turkey; Batumi and Tbilisi, Georgia; Riga, Latvia; and Medina, Saudi Arabia.
At the start of the 2025 summer season and new flight schedule, TAV Macedonia has introduced many novelties for passengers. With the summer flight schedule, which took effect on 30 March 2025, and is approved by the Civil Aviation Agency, Skopje International Airport will offer 47 destinations served by 16 airlines, excluding charter flights. From Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, there will be 7 regular routes served by 6 airlines.
According to TAV Macedonia, in this anniversary year, regular flights from Skopje Airport include routes to: Athens – Aegean Airlines, Belgrade – Air Serbia, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen – AJet, Vienna – Austrian Airlines, Zurich – Chair Airlines, Zagreb and Split – Croatia Airlines, Paris Orly – EasyJet, Zurich – Edelweiss, Warsaw – LOT Polish Airlines, Frankfurt – Lufthansa, Oslo – Norwegian Air Shuttle, Bodrum, Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen), Izmir, Antalya – Pegasus Airlines, Antalya and Izmir – SunExpress, Amsterdam – Transavia, and Istanbul (iGA) – Turkish Airlines. Low-cost airline Wizz Air will continue operating flights to: Barcelona, Basel Mulhouse, Berlin, Bologna, Bratislava, Brussels Charleroi, Dortmund, Eindhoven, Frankfurt-Hahn, Friedrichshafen, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Lyon, Malmö, Malta, Milan Malpensa, Memmingen, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Oslo, Paris, Rome (Fiumicino and Ciampino), Venice Treviso, Karlsruhe, Ljubljana, and London Luton.
Additionally, for the summer charter schedule, six charter destinations are planned from Skopje: Antalya – Pegasus, SunExpress, and Freebird Airlines; Frankfurt – Lufthansa (Frankfurt Airport) and Wizz Air (Frankfurt Hahn); Istanbul – Turkish Airlines (iGA Airport), Pegasus and AJet (Sabiha Gökçen); Izmir – Pegasus and SunExpress; Zurich – Edelweiss and Chair Airlines; and Oslo – Wizz Air (Sandefjord) and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
From Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, the 2025 summer schedule includes 7 regular destinations served by 6 airlines: Belgrade – Air Serbia; Zurich – Chair Airlines and Edelweiss; Amsterdam – TUI Fly; Istanbul – Turkish Airlines; and Vienna, Dortmund, and Memmingen – Wizz Air.
During the 2024/2025 winter schedule, which ended in March 2025, 14 airlines operated 37 regular destinations and 7 charter destinations, totaling 44 destinations from Skopje International Airport. During the same winter schedule, 3 airlines operated 4 destinations from Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport.
