On 22 September 2026, a presentation aimed at supporting Czech food export to North Macedonia took place in Skopje. The event was held within the framework of the Economic Diplomacy Project (PROPED), organized by the Commercial and Economic Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Czech Ministry of Agriculture and the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia.
Opening remarks were delivered by the Executive Director of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Antoni Peshev, alongside the Head of the Consular and Business Economic Section of the Czech Embassy in Skopje, Mr. Květoslav Sulek. Macedonia and the Czech Republic share strong economic ties, yet their full potential remains untapped, with significant opportunities for deepening and intensifying cooperation. Energy, infrastructure, mineral raw materials, tourism, and agribusiness are among key sectors where both countries can expand bilateral business engagements. Concurrently, efforts must focus on boosting investments, where substantial room for growth also exists.
The program continued with the screening of a promotional film highlighting Czech exports, followed by presentations from Czech food and beverage producers. Concluding the opening session, a discussion period allowed representatives from Czech companies, the Embassy, and the Ministry of Agriculture (an agricultural diplomat) to field questions from Macedonian import and distribution companies. Following the plenary portion, B2B meetings were held.
The Czech delegation included Budějovický Budvar (presenting dark and pale lager), AG Foods and Biogena (instant coffee and cocoa for vending machines, teas, syrups, etc.), Semix Pluso (cereals and healthy food products), Simandl (instant coffee, hot chocolate, vegan beverages, teas), and Rudolf Jelínek (slivovitz and traditional fruit spirits).
At the conclusion of the event, Budějovický Budvar hosted a dedicated presentation featuring a master draught beer brand ambassador, who demonstrated distinct traditional beer-tapping styles to attendees. The presentation culminated in a tasting session enjoyed by most participants.
