The concentration of exports toward only a few EU countries raises the question of how to penetrate new markets across Europe, as well as forge trade relations with nations in North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia—without overlooking opportunities to leverage existing ties with the United Kingdom and the United States as markets with immense export potential for us.
Within the Chamber, export matters are treated as an utmost priority through several distinct bodies and initiatives:
- The National Export Council
- The Export Institute (comprising a Training Center and an Analytical Center dedicated to capacity building for human resources in exporting companies, as well as conducting comparative analyses to target potential across various export markets)
- The Exporters' Club
The Chamber has also developed a digital tool—the "Easy Export" export platform—designed to facilitate easier access to information and promote companies abroad.
Exports serve as the fundamental driver of economic development for any nation, driving greater competitiveness and innovation. This carries particular significance for Macedonia, given that the country faces low export diversification in terms of the number of active exporters, product varieties, and target markets—underscored by the fact that more than 60% of total exports are directed to just five countries.
