From the beginning of the year through July, the Economic Chamber has submitted 23 initiatives to the relevant institutions proposing regulatory changes, based on requests from our member companies, with the aim of creating a better business environment.

Six have been fully or partially accepted, decisions are still pending on some, while others have already entered parliamentary procedure. Regardless of the overall outcome, we do not give up. Where necessary, we reiterate our requests and actively work to continuously improve public-private dialogue, which is not only in the interest of the business community but also of the country as a whole, by fostering economic development.

Some of the accepted initiatives include:

-       The request of the Spa Group for a 20% increase in the price of a hospital day at spas and a 50% increase in specialist examinations—something that had not been done for ten years and has now been resolved by a decision of the Health Insurance Fund.

-       Amendment of the Food and Veterinary Agency (AHV) decision on safety measures for the import of milk and dairy products, initiated through the Dairy Industry Group, and reinstatement of the previous decision so that each individual shipment is no longer subject to inspection and analysis.

-       An opinion on the implementation of the Rulebook on the Transport of Hazardous Waste, under which, in addition to their own transport vehicles, companies will be able to use other vehicles with prior notification and approval from the Ministry.
