The President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Branko Azeski, has been appointed Acting President of the Western Balkans Six Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF), the regional platform that brings together the chambers of commerce of the Western Balkans.

At the session held in Belgrade, Serbia, Azeski was unanimously elected with a mandate to implement substantial reforms to the structure of the WB6 CIF and its Business Council, which is composed of the region’s largest companies.

Several decisions were adopted during the session, including an initiative to prepare a feasibility study for a Regional Training and Certification Center, whose implementation will be supported by the German Development Bank (KfW).

Azeski brings extensive experience in regional chamber cooperation. He has twice served as President of the Association of Balkan Chambers, has been Deputy Chair of the WB6 CIF for the past 11 years, and has held the position of President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia for more than two decades.

The Western Balkans Six Chamber Investment Forum, headquartered in Trieste, was established in 2015 within the framework of the Berlin Process, initiated by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The Forum serves as the voice of the private sector in the region, representing approximately 350,000 companies from the Western Balkan economies. WB6 CIF was founded by the six national chambers of commerce of the region with the objective of strengthening mutual cooperation and implementing joint initiatives of common interest to the business community.
