Deepening economic cooperation between North Macedonia and Japan and creating new opportunities for business partnerships were the focus of yesterday’s business forum held in Skopje, which brought together more than 130 representatives from institutions, the business community, and the diplomatic corps.

The event was also attended by the Executive Director of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Antoni Peshev, who, together with representatives of domestic companies, took part in discussions and business meetings aimed at strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.

The Ambassador of Japan to North Macedonia, H.E. Setsuko Kawahara, emphasized that such forums represent an important platform for connecting companies and identifying new opportunities for cooperation. She noted that Japanese companies are showing increasing interest in the region and in the potential offered by the Macedonian economy.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, highlighted that economic diplomacy and the attraction of foreign investment remain among the Government’s priorities, adding that Japan is viewed as an important partner with significant potential for advancing trade, investment, and technological cooperation.

As part of the forum, direct business meetings were also organized, allowing participating companies to establish contacts and hold discussions with nine renowned Japanese companies, with the aim of creating new partnerships and concrete business collaborations.
