Last night, at around 19:20, the President of the Economic Chamber, Branko Azeski, was informed by the owner of Makprogres Vinica, Gligor Cvetanov, that a fire had broken out at the factory. The Government, the President of the Government, as well as the Deputy President of the Government and Minister of Transport were immediately alerted, and issued the necessary orders for the rescue of the entire plant. However, despite intensive efforts, it must be noted that three key production facilities have been completely destroyed.

The Economic Chamber expresses its regret over this tragedy, which will leave a profound impact on the operations of one of Macedonia’s most successful exporting companies, ranked among the most renowned in the confectionery industry and recognized by its Vincini brand. Makprogres Vinica is a distinguished member of the Chamber, a leader both in its own business activities and in contributing to the creation of a favorable business environment in the country. Members of its ownership structure have always held leading positions within the Chamber’s management.

In extinguishing the fire, support was also provided by our member companies, which made their capacities available.

A team from the Economic Chamber has been present on site since the outbreak of the fire and, together with the owners, will form a crisis headquarters. The Chamber is undertaking measures to fully normalize the situation.
